Louis Tomlinson stopped for speeding on the way to V Fest

One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson was stopped for speeding as he rushed to get to the V Festival.

The 20-year-old pop star was pulled over by police after being clocked doing 48mph in a 40mph zone on his way to party at the music event in Chelmsford, Essex, East England, and police gave him three points on his driving licence as well as an £80 fine for the offence.

Louis only passed his test less than two years ago meaning that if he's caught again speeding he'll face a driving ban under British law.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Louis told friends he's learnt his lesson and will be extra careful from now on. His girlfriend Eleanor Calder is at university in Manchester and he drives up to see her so he doesn't want a ban."

Meanwhile, his bandmate Niall Horan caused trouble as he partied at the festival until 4am before security eventually intervened and put a stop to the raucous celebrations.

He had brought a group of his Irish friends over to the Chelmsford site of the festival and they were initially partying on a tour bus but when they spilled out onto the VIP campsite they were told to call it a night.

A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Everyone was in high spirits. Billie Piper and Diana Vickers were there and lots of people were milling about outside. There was music playing on the bus while everybody drank booze on the grass."
