Five minutes Zanna van Dijk

The health and fitness addict talks about the Be:Fit weekender and life as a blogger.

Zanna van Dijk is one of the ambassadors for Be:FIT London, the women's healty and fitness event which takes place in London over the May bank holiday.

We quizzed her about how she got involved with the event and got her to reveal her health and fitness secrets!

Tell us what your involvement with Be:FIT will be?
I am doing a talk on Saturday all about my journey to becoming a fitness blogger and sharing my top health tips. I am also co-leading a #girlgains workout on Friday.

What inspired you to become so involved with health and fitness?
I just decided to get fitter and eat a more nutritious diet to benefit my overall health. The more I got into it, the more it became a passion. I loved how it made me feel. I was stronger, healthier and happier and I never looked back!

And what are the main health and fitness tips you'd give anyone who asked?
My biggest tip is to find a balance. Don't throw yourself into extreme measures like juice cleanses and detoxes. Just focus on nourishing your body with wholesome foods and enjoying a challenging training regime. The results will come and they will last!

Tell us a bit more about the girl gains community
#girlgains is a community founded by my two besties and I. It brings together women from across the country and the world through social media as well as events and workshops. The main goal of #girlgains is to educate, empower and inspire women to be the fittest, healthiest and happiest version of themselves.

What is your greatest achievement to date?
I would definitely day it was being on the cover of the Sunday Times Style magazine as well as bringing out my own activewear collection in collaboration with Sports Philosophy. If we are talking about outside of fitness, I would say my first class degree or A level results :)

What's the key to being a successful blogger?
Well thats a big question and one that is hard to answer. I think my biggest recommendation is to go into blogging with your eyes wide open. You cannot set up a blog and instantly make a living off it. Do it as a hobby first, let it build organically and then see what happens. Do itbecause you're passionate about the topic, not because you want to make it your career! Be in it for the right reasons.

What’s next?
Well I am announcing something huge which I will be able to discuss at Be:FIT. It is a gigantic project i will be working on for the next year so... I guess that is next!!

Be:FIT will be held at the Business Design Centre, 52 Upper Street, London N1 0QH 29th April to 1st May 2016
