The Hunger Games: Catching Fire triumphed at The Empire Cinemas Alternative Movie Awards.

Jennifer Lawrence picked up two awards for her role as Katniss Everdeen in 'The Hunger Games' sequel - Sexiest Actress and Best Film Hero. The movie itself 'The Hunger Games: Catching Fire' won the award for best sequel.

Thor: The Dark World was also another popular choice. Chris Hemsworth was voted  Sexiest Male Actor and Tom Hiddleston won for Best Film Villain.

All winners are chosen by the public. Jon Nutton, Marketing Director for Empire Cinemas, said: "It's obvious that Jennifer Lawrence has captured the hearts, and funny bones, of the public and can do no wrong as her character Katniss Everdeen. Here at Empire Cinemas we're also glad to be awarding Leonardo DiCaprio a much deserved award and overdue credit for his incredible work these last 12 months."

He may not have received an Oscar, but Leonardo DiCaprio was honoured for both his role in 'The Wolf Of Wall Street' and 'The Great Gatsby' and picked up the People's Choice Award.

Best Film Villain: Loki (Tom Hiddleston) - Thor: The Dark World

Sexiest Actor: Thor (Chris Hemsowth) - Thor: The Dark World

Sexiest Actress: Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) - The Hunger Game: Catching Fire

Best Film Hero: Jennifer Lawrence - The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

Best On-Screen Partnership: Ryan Stone (Sandra Bullock) and Matt Kowalski (George Clooney) - Gravity

Best Fight Scenes: Thor: The Dark World

Funniest Film: Despicable Me 2

Best Sequel: The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

The People's Choice Award: Leonardo Di Caprio
