Will Smith plans New Year's Eve TV special

Will Smith and his company Overbrook Entertainment are planning on producing a New Year's Eve TV special.

The Hollywood actor is keen to create a show in the style of  'New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest' and he is would very much love to have his friend David Beckham involved.

Will's company Overbrook entertainment, who were behind the Academy Award nominated  'Ali' (2001) and 'The Pursuit of Happyness' (2006), want to create something that is fun and entertaining that will feature several musical performances by big names, and that could possibly include Will himself.

A source told the New York Post newspaper: "As of now, it's being shopped to the networks. It would feature musical performances, possibly one by Will.

"They want to do something with Beckham and his focus on his Miami soccer team."

It's not clear whether Jada Pinkett-Smith and the rest of the family will be part of the show as its currently only at the development stage.

Overbrook Entertainment was founded by Will and his business partner James Lassiter in 1997.
