Review: Coldplay A Head Full of Dreams Tour

Coldplay bring their A Head Full of Dreams Tour to London.

This week, Coldplay are playing an incredible four nights at the iconic Wembley stadium. On a dry and bright Wednesday evening, 85,000 Coldplay fans arrived at the venue to see the band play. And it’s no surprise seeing as this is the band’s first world tour since their 2011-12 Mylo Xyloto tour.

After travelling around the globe with this tour, now they’re back on home soil. Frontman Chris Martin said, “Everything we have done so far has been a warm up to come home and play for our friends.”

Kicking off the evening was opener Alessia Cara, who is probably best known for her song Wild Things. She was then followed by Lianne La Havas, who is the band’s main support act and will be playing all 4 nights. Alessia Cara is opening the Wednesday and Thursday shows whilst Reef will be opening the two remaining shows on Saturday and Sunday.

As they were promoting their most recent album, A Head Full of Dreams, many of the songs were from this album, such as their most recent single, Adventure of a Lifetime, however they didn’t forget their classic hits such as Paradise, The Scientist, Fix You, Viva La Vida

They also did a lovely tribute to the late Muhammad Ali on the screens which was a really nice touch as well as dedicating the song ‘See You Soon’ to everyone in Orlando and all that they are going through.

The night ended with pretty fireworks, lighting up the night sky. Not a bad way to end a Wednesday night, ey?

The band will play a further three more dates in London before moving onto Amsterdam, Berlin, Hamburg, Stockholm and Copenhagen. If you’re lucky enough to be heading to one of their shows, we really hope you enjoy – we certainly did!
