Natalia Vodianova fronts Stella McCartney campaign
Stella McCartney has recruited Natalia Vodianova to front the advertising campaign for her autumn campaign.
The Russian model will front the designer's autumn campaign, which she says will have "a sense of humour", and features the model posing in a stretch tweed paneled minidress and with a faux-croc Grace clutch bag, wearing a lavishly embroidered white poplin shirt.
Stella told WWD: "We tried to create a striking, memorable image that will leap off the page and capture the energy of the collection and Natalia's personality."
Natalia, 30, will be returning for her third consecutive season as the face of the label.
The adverts were shot in London by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.
While Stella is sure to be excited about her forthcoming campaign, the designs she is most excited about at present are the Team GB Olympic outfits, which her countrymen are wearing for the games in London.
Stella says it was very difficult getting the kits to be stylish as well as practical and took a lot of time and effort getting them just right.
She said: "I started the process talking to the athletes themselves, asking them questions and getting into the psychological side of what they wear to compete.
"They all said they felt the way they looked did impact on how they performed. We all forget that athletes are normal people too and in the same way that you or I feel differently when we know we look good, so do they."
